The HempFarm Report

Sept. 2005

Welcome to the latest HempFarm Report from http://www.HempFarm.org

What else is there to talk about than Hurricane Katrina, the latest example of Criminal Negligence from the Bush Brain Trust.

Despite Bush Administration claims that there was no way to predict or stop the catastrophe caused by Hurricane Katrina, they're just shoveling bullshit down our throats.

While pouring our tax money into their Oil War and Halliburton, the Bush administration ignored every expert opinion and slashed the FEMA and Army Corp of Engineers budgets for upgrading the pumps and levees around New Orleans.

Bush's political appointees have turned the emergency response of the "Richest Nation on Earth" into a sad joke as FEMA personal refuse truckloads of water from Wal Mart, and doctors and supplies from Cuba. Once again the lives of the American people are worth less than the immature politics of Ignorance and Greed.

Even the corporate mass media can't hide the embarassing lack of a Federal Response, as Americans across the political spectrum, from Kanye West to conservative politicians are putting a fire under Bush's ass to DO HIS FUCKING JOB and PROTECT THE PEOPLE of America instead of simply lying to their faces while they die (again, and again).

And finally, to prove the absolute farce of George Bush's claims on "Good Morning America" that he didn't think "anyone anticipated the breach of the levees," even Mr. Bill knew more than our "War President" and his Political Appointees."

With a government like Bush's, who needs enemies?

News & Info:

Why FEMA Was Missing in Action
By Peter G. Gosselin and Alan C. Miller
LA Times - 9/05/05
While the federal government has spent much of the last quarter-century trimming the safety nets it provides Americans, it has dramatically expanded its promise of protection in one area — disaster. Since the 1970s, Washington has emerged as the insurer of last resort against floods, fires, earthquakes and — after 2001 — terrorist attacks. But the government's stumbling response to the storm that devastated the nation's Gulf Coast reveals that the federal agency singularly most responsible for making good on Washington's expanded promise has been hobbled by cutbacks and a bureaucratic downgrading.

Despite Warnings, Washington Failed to Fund Levee Projects
By Richard A. Serrano and Nicole Gaouette
LA Times - 9/04/05
To cut spending, officials gambled that the worst-case scenario would not come to be. For years, Washington had been warned that doom lurked just beyond the levees. And for years, the White House and Congress had dickered over how much money to put into shoring up century-old dikes and carrying out newer flood control projects to protect the city of New Orleans.
